New Chelsea was one of the first Legion housing societies to be organized in Canada, founded in 1952 by a joint venture of Branches of the Royal Canadian Legion in the Vancouver area. Member of the Langara College's Advisory Committee for Social Housing Programs
Langara College offers a certificate in Social Housing Management. New Chelsea Society participates in the Advisory Committee for the program and two of the courses are taught by our Director of Development & Asset Management, Stefan Buane. The program is designed for staff, managers, and volunteers engaged in social housing operations or development. We see this program and our participation in it as an important contribution to strengthening our area’s social housing programs.

Royal Canadian Air Cadets
New Chelsea Society has a long history with the Royal Canadian Legion. Our support of today and tomorrow’s armed forces continues through the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Derek Davidson, our Director of Resident Services and Community Development, is an active volunteer with the local chapter.
New Chelsea Society is also a member of Volunteer Burnaby. We are also proud to work with local city councils throughout the Lower Mainland.
