New Chelsea Society opens its new head office

We are excited to announce our move to a brand new office space as of January 2019. “Having this wonderful office in Burnaby from where we can carry on our vision, mission, and mandate, will ensure that for many years to come, New Chelsea Society will be able to fulfill our commitment to the citizens of Burnaby as well as those citizens throughout the Lower Mainland who are in need of an affordable place to live,” said New Chelsea CEO Patrick Buchannon in a statement. We celebrated with an open house event in April 2019, which was attended by Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley and city councillors Joe Keithley, James Wang and Paul McDonnell. Burnaby-Edmonds MLA Raj Chouhan was also in attendance.

News release – 4,900 new affordable rental homes on the way for B.C. families. New Chelsea Society is honoured to be partnering with the Province and the City of Vancouver to build a 102-unit affordable housing project for seniors and families on Southwest Marine Drive in Vancouver.

New Chelsea Society has planted 10,000 tulips at many of its various locations throughout Metro Vancouver, as a way to participating in a national project to commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands by the Canadian military during the Second World War.

News release from the Government of BC: more affordable housing on its way

The Province is partnering with the City of Vancouver and New Chelsea Society to build 102 affordable rental homes at 75 and 95 SW Marine Dr. Comprised of two six-storey buildings, the development will provide studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes for individuals and families with low to middle incomes.
